Built for Multi-SpecialtyTeleconsult Operations
Every feature in ReasonTele is purpose-built for the demands of multi-specialty teleconsultation — from telestroke and telepsychiatry to telecardiology and beyond. Automated dispatch, AI documentation, and specialty-specific clinical tools let your clinicians focus on patient care.
Automated Dispatch Engine
The ReasonTele dispatch engine eliminates the manual phone trees and pager systems that delay specialist consults. When an ED nurse or physician triggers a consult request — whether for telestroke, telepsychiatry, telecardiology, or any other service line — our routing algorithm instantly identifies the best available specialist based on specialty, licensure, current workload, and historical response times.
Requests are automatically escalated if the primary specialist does not respond within the configured SLA window. Backup pools, geographic preferences, and credential requirements are all configurable per facility.
Dispatch analytics provide real-time visibility into queue depth, average pickup times, and specialist utilization, enabling medical directors to make data-driven staffing decisions.
Key Capabilities
- Rule-based and AI-assisted specialist matching
- Configurable escalation chains with timeout thresholds
- Multi-facility dispatch with priority routing
- Real-time queue monitoring dashboard
- Automatic load balancing across specialist pools
- After-hours and holiday scheduling rules
HIPAA-Compliant Video
ReasonTele video is built on a self-hosted Jitsi infrastructure deployed within our HIPAA-compliant AWS environment. There are no third-party video providers with access to PHI. All media streams are encrypted end-to-end with SRTP, and no recordings are stored unless explicitly configured.
During a video consult, clinicians have access to integrated clinical tools tailored to their specialty. Neurologists can use the built-in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scoring module, cardiologists can review ECG tracings via screen share, and psychiatrists can document mental status exams — all within the same platform. A real-time chat sidebar allows sharing links or notes without interrupting the conversation.
The video experience is optimized for hospital-grade networks, with adaptive bitrate controls and fallback to audio-only mode in low-bandwidth environments.
Key Capabilities
- End-to-end encrypted video and audio (SRTP)
- Self-hosted Jitsi — no third-party PHI exposure
- Integrated NIHSS scoring and specialty-specific clinical tools
- Screen sharing and image review
- Adaptive bitrate for hospital networks
- Audio-only fallback mode
AI-Powered Clinical Scribe
ReasonNotes is our AI scribe that listens to the teleconsult in real time and generates structured clinical documentation. It captures the history of present illness, clinical findings, differential diagnosis, and treatment recommendations in a format that matches your documentation standards across all specialties.
The AI model is trained on encounter patterns across neurology, psychiatry, cardiology, pulmonology, infectious disease, nephrology, and general medicine. It understands specialty-specific terminology, scoring systems, medication dosing, and disposition planning. Clinicians review and approve the generated note before it is finalized — the AI assists, but the clinician remains in control.
Generated notes can be exported as PDF, pushed directly to the EMR via HL7v2 or FHIR, or delivered via secure fax. ReasonNotes reduces documentation time from 15-20 minutes to under 3 minutes per consult.
Key Capabilities
- Real-time audio transcription during consult
- Structured note generation (H&P, assessment, plan) per specialty
- Multi-specialty language model (neurology, psychiatry, cardiology, and more)
- Clinician review and approval workflow
- Export to PDF, HL7v2, FHIR, or fax
- Documentation time reduced to under 3 minutes
SLA & Quality Monitoring
Every teleconsult on ReasonTele is tracked against configurable SLA targets. Response time, time to disposition, and documentation turnaround are measured automatically, giving operations teams the data they need to maintain service quality.
Dashboards show real-time and historical performance across facilities, specialists, and service lines. Automated alerts notify administrators when SLA breaches occur or when trending metrics suggest a staffing gap.
Compliance reporting is built in for Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory requirements. Export reports on demand or schedule them for automatic delivery to compliance teams.
Key Capabilities
- Configurable SLA targets per facility and service line
- Real-time response time tracking
- Automated breach alerts and escalation notifications
- Historical performance trending and analytics
- Joint Commission and CMS compliance reporting
- Scheduled report generation and delivery
EMR Integration Suite
ReasonTele integrates with your existing electronic medical record through multiple pathways. HL7v2 ADT feeds provide real-time patient context when a consult is initiated. FHIR R4 APIs enable bidirectional data exchange with modern EMR systems.
For hospitals running ReasonEMR, native integration provides a seamless experience — consult requests originate from the patient chart, and completed notes flow back automatically. For other EMR systems, our integration team configures the appropriate interface during onboarding.
When electronic integration is not available, ReasonTele supports secure fax delivery of consult notes to any destination. Notes are formatted to match the receiving facility's preferred layout.
Key Capabilities
- HL7v2 ADT feed ingestion for patient context
- FHIR R4 bidirectional data exchange
- Native ReasonEMR integration
- Epic, Cerner, and MEDITECH interface support
- Secure fax delivery with custom formatting
- PDF export with digital signature
Security & Compliance
ReasonTele is designed for HIPAA compliance at every layer. Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. All access is controlled through role-based permissions with multi-factor authentication required for every user.
We support both TOTP (authenticator app) and WebAuthn (hardware key) for MFA. Session management includes automatic timeout, concurrent session limits, and comprehensive audit logging of every action taken on the platform.
Our infrastructure runs on AWS with SOC 2 Type II certification. We execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with every customer and conduct annual penetration testing and security audits.
Key Capabilities
- AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit
- TOTP and WebAuthn multi-factor authentication
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Comprehensive audit logging
